I had this dream a month ago, when mom was away in France for holiday. I remember being in a modernly decorated apartment, sitting on a white, furry carpet on floor watching tv, between my mom and my dad's legs, who were sitting on a white couch and looked significantly happy, and was very aware i did not belong there, like i was a visitor from another timeline. In real life, dad is dead for 5 and a half years now, and they got a very messy divorce (dad cheated on mom, things got violent... Dad remarried but he never left our side which was actually for the worse) when İ was in my early teens and my brother was just a small child. But in my dream, they were still happily married, and my usually overly introverted and asocial brother was very social and outgoing. I was asking questions about this timeline, and they were answering my questions calmly with a loving tone. They explained they lived in Paris and recently came back to the country we are currently in, due to economic reasons. When i saw my brother i was surprised and said "wow, my brother is really asocial back in my world". Mom said "well he would be after taking him away from the place he grew up in" and explained this is this worlds my brother is being asocial after moving back here from Paris. After her respond i explained that in my world he never even been on a plane since his babyhood and mom was shocked, that was when i noticed in this world i was visiting, i never existed, as mom and dad's answers never involved the version of me in this world. And when i woke up, something in me was saying that was an alternative reality where i never existed and me having that dream was a cosmic message meaning my conception and birth was a mistake.
Dreams often weave together our memories, emotions, and subconscious thoughts in ways that can be both complex and illuminating. The dream you described holds various symbolic themes that may reflect your feelings about family dynamics, existence, and longing for connection.
Alternative Reality: The concept of being in a different timeline suggests a desire to explore what life might have been like had circumstances been different. This could indicate feelings of longing for a harmonious family life, particularly with your parents together and your brother thriving in a different environment.
Parental Relationships: Seeing your parents happily together could reflect an inner wish for reconciliation between them. The stark contrast between the dream scenario and your reality points to unresolved feelings about their divorce and your father's death. This dream might signify a longing for the love and security you associated with a traditional family unit.
Your Brother's Behavior: Your brother's outgoing nature in the dream compared to his real-life introversion may symbolize your hopes for him to thrive and be happy despite past struggles. It could also reflect your feelings of guilt or concern about how family dynamics have affected him.
Existential Reflection: The notion of feeling like a visitor or that you didn't exist in that world can represent feelings of alienation or questioning your place in your family or in life itself. This could stem from your complex feelings surrounding your parents’ past and the impact it had on your upbringing.
Cosmic Message: The dream's closing thoughts, where you feel your existence was a mistake, might indicate deep-seated insecurities or feelings of inadequacy that are worth exploring. It could be your subconscious urging you to validate your own worth and existence, especially in light of your family's history.
Overall, this dream explores themes of family, existence, and the contrast between reality and possibility. It might be helpful to reflect on these feelings in your waking life, perhaps through journaling or talking to someone you trust, to gain more insight into how your past influences your present thoughts and emotions.
